2008 - 18th Edition Worldwide Electronic Component Distribution Report
In 2006 the market for Electronic Components supplied through
distribution grew in all regions of the world. For 2007 although this
growth continued it was not reflected in all the countries of the world
and for the Distribution Market as a whole 2007 was a difficult year.
Although in 2007 the Merger and Acquisition activity continued with
further consolidation in the distribution industry, many smaller
specialist distributors outgrew the market average. The focus in Europe
on distributors becoming more involved in the design-in of products on
behalf of the manufacturers, even where production will take place
somewhere in the world has caused many suppliers to evaluate their
distribution policy. Following the effects of the major changes that
happened in 2005, the 2007 report was the opportunity to see which
distributors had grown share. The 2008 report will show which companies
have been successful at maintaining the gains made. At the same time,
the Chinese Market continues its growth which affects all distributors
around the world as production patterns continue to change. This year's
report shows the 2007 revenues of all the major electronic component
distributors in Europe, North America, Russia, China and Japan, with a
detailed analysis of the different counties of Europe.
The 2008 Worldwide Report covering 2007 data consists of over 900 pages. It is organised into geographical groupings of countries (the basic level at which information is gathered) and summarised into a World level. At each level (national or global) data is presented in similar formats, in sections as below. The report is an in-depth study prepared by people who have a deep involvement with the electronic component industry. All reports are in English.
