- electronicAsia 2007, Hong Kong, with highest level ever of
international visitors – more than 60 percent of the approx.
34,500 visitors from outside of Hong Kong
- 556 exhibitors from 17 countries presented to potential customers looking to make purchases from 13 to 16 October 2007
The 556 exhibitors at electronicAsia 2007, which took place in the
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13 to 16 October, were
very pleased at the increased number of foreign visitors. Messe
München International counted approx. 34,500 trade visitors for
its leading electronics trade fair in Hong Kong and registered 13
percent more international participants in the process. Overall, more
than 21,000 visitors traveled from outside the special administrative
district to electronicAsia, and more than half of them came directly
from Asia, especially from Mainland China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and
India, and one-quarter came from Europe. Their shared interest:
state-of-the-art electronic components and display technologies.
The
primary goals of the electronicAsia exhibitors are to fulfill the
demand in Southeast Asia for innovative electronics and conclude
business transactions directly at the trade fair. They use the
regional, leading electronics trade fair as a contact platform to
conduct discussions with the numerous international purchasers, who
visit the trade fair, and presented their goods and services compactly
once again on an exhibition area of 12,860 sq. m.
Among the
exhibitors, companies from the People's Republic of China, Taiwan and
South Korea were represented in especially large numbers and exhibited
both individually and at joint booths at electronicAsia 2007. Companies
from Germany also took advantage of the chance to exhibit jointly at
this trading platform for electronics; Indukey Keyboard Production,
LPKF Laser & Electronics, Micronas, Prema Semiconductor and the new
exhibitor Inovan KG participated at the German Pavilion.

The
trade visitors at electronicAsia 2007 were extremely interested in the
exhibition area "World of Display Technology", which dealt intensively
with current display technologies, research and development as well as
innovative production technologies for the screens of the future. Among
others, companies such as Truly Semiconductors, Cotco International, IM
and Clover Display participated, which attracted attention to
themselves and the growth market of displays with "sharp" exhibits.
As
in every year, electronicAsia took place simultaneously with the Hong
Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), which is held by the Hong Kong
Trade Development Council (HKTDC). With approx. 2,500 exhibitors from
29 countries and more than 58,000 international visitors on four trade
fair days, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair underlined its position as
Asia's largest trade fair for electronic end products. At the same
time, it ensured a steady stream of interested people for electronic
components and display technologies at the neighboring electronicAsia
– an invaluable synergy effect of this joint event.
