Conferences and events

As is the case every year, the technical exhibition for Componex/electronicIndia was supplemented by a conference program on hot industry topics.

The "International Conference on Contract Manufacturing: The Indian Perspective" on 7 February 2007 at the Pragati Maidan Exhibition Center was a platform for both information and communication. It was concentrating on opportunities and challenges for the Indian EMS companies and focused on the international co-operation and matchmaking.

International Conference on Contract Manufacturing: The Indian Perspective

The conference reflected the significance of India’s booming EMS industry

In expert lectures, speakers from industry and commerce reported on the technological and business aspects for EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) in India. According to the market research firm Frost & Sullivan, by 2010, this sector will grow from 900 million U.S. dollars (2005) to 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in India. These market gains are being driven primarily by the strong demand for telecommunications equipment and consumer products.

At the same time, conference delegates had the opportunity to discuss about the latest technologies with colleagues, gain information about prospects that can be realized in India and hold initial conversations with potential partners.
