- 10 percent more exhibitors, 40-percent increase in exhibition floor space
- More than 25,000 qualified trade visitors: Good contacts and sales leads
- “International Conference on Contract Manufacturing: The Indian Perspective” shows the opportunities that the Indian market presents
On February 8th, after three trade show days,
Componex/electronicIndia 2007 closed its exhibition halls in New Delhi
with a successful new set of numbers: With 826 exhibitors from more
than 25 countries, this leading regional trade show for electronics
components and electronic production technology recorded a
participation increase exceeding 10 percent (2006: 720 exhibitors), and
exhibition floor space even increased by 40%. The response on the
attendee side was also excellent: 25,183 trade visitors (2006: 18,500)
from India and abroad did not want to miss the opportunity that the
12th International Conference and Exhibition for Electronic Components,
Materials and Production Equipment presented for gaining a
comprehensive overview of the latest technologies, products and
services – and the vendors who supply them.
Exhibitors Praise the Trade Show as a Platform for Sharing Information
Long-standing
Componex/electronicIndia exhibitors such as Taiyo Yuden particularly
emphasized the trade show’s high quality as a platform for making
contact and exchanging information. Akira Yamashita of the
company’s Sales Strategy Planning Division, Marketing
Headquarters, said: “We are very satisfied with the way that the
trade show went. We use it to increase awareness of our name in the
region, to get to know the market better, and to maintain customer
contacts.”
Rajesh Mattoo, general manager sales &
marketing at AT&S came to an equally positive assessment of his
company’s participation: “For us, Componex/electronicIndia
always presents a good opportunity to meet customers and make new
contacts. Beyond that, we greatly appreciate the fact that specialists
from outside India use this event to get to know potential Indian
suppliers.”
“Componex/electronicIndia is
definitely the event to meet your targeted prospects or
customers,” confirmed Pamelina Siow, marketing manager at Siemens
Pte Ltd.’s Automation and Drives, Electronics Assembly Division:
“We generated a great deal of sales leads within three
days.”
Ideal Opportunity for Evaluating the Market
Erik
van de Ven, who directs Assembleon’s Asian business, was also
highly pleased with the large number of booth visitors and with the
opportunity to present his company on the Indian market. At the same
time, he also emphasized the importance of Componex/electronicIndia for
further evaluation of the market: “The information gathered over
the past few days, the knowledge that we gained in the conference that
accompanies the exhibition, and our own market research results confirm
that India is about to achieve a breakthrough. And we are prepared to
be a part of that.”
Besides Assembleon, many other
companies sent high-ranking representatives to the “International
Conference on Contract Manufacturing: The Indian Perspective” on
February 7th, 2007, in order to gain specific insights into the market.
The response to the conference, which provided information on the
technological and economic aspects of Electronic Manufacturing Services
(EMS) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) in India, was very good.
One of the main themes was investment planning for numerous EMS
companies for the South of India, a topic that was especially
interesting for vendors of electronics production technology.
More German Companies at Componex/electronicIndia 2007
Numerous
small and mid-sized companies from Germany, Great Britain, China,
Taiwan and Hong Kong took advantage of the opportunity to participate
in Componex/electronicIndia 2007 through national pavilions. Dr. Thomas
Stange, trade show representative from the German Electrical and
Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), was particularly
pleased by the growing German participation, which included 22
companies: “Over the past year, the German electronics
industry’s exports to India have grown by about 30 percent
– a development which is also reflected in the fact that the
number of German exhibitors increased again. This makes
Componex/electronicIndia the most important event for electronics
components and electronic production technology in this region.”
On
the basis of his own experience, Udo Weiss, who is responsible for
project management and development for subracks and systems at Schroff
GmbH, is also aware of the significance of this event for the Indian
economic region: “This is already the third time that Schroff has
participated in Componex/electronicIndia. This trade show offers an
excellent basis for gaining an overview of India’s market
segments and their rapid development. High-quality trade show contacts
often result in lucrative contracts. For us, that is a good reason to
participate again.”
